Yeap, that's about as low as you'll find them new.
 It is Choate stocks..

These are nice sturdy stocks, and the 24"Fluted Bull Barrels are nice and heavy as well.
I'll let someone else speak for theirs, as Mine isn't the fluted model.

I've got the .22-250 Fluted Ultra, they are indeed nice, the stock is great for bipod use, it's adjustable for LOP and optional cheek pieces can be purchased from Choate. The price is about as good as it gets, they've gone up a bit since I bought mine, but not much considering other price increases.

I've got a question about the CHOATE stock.....

I was about the purchase a "full dressed" FLUTED ULTRA in .204 Ruger.  It had the CHOATE stock, a 50MM TASCO scope on it, great trigger also.  The stock seemed to "lean"towards the left makin git damn near impossible for a lefty to shoot it.  But when I looked through as a righty, then everything seemed to work.  Is this normal for a CHOATE stock?  It looked like it was put on right.  My gunsmith/shop owner had it and and said it would put four bullets in a asprin at 100 yards or bring it back!  He had the target there as he sighted it in and mounted the scope also.

Nice looking rifle. How fast can you reload it with it mounted on a bipod? Difficult to break it open and reload?

i love mine.   ;D  ha, i rave about it all the time.  i think it's an excellent rifle for the money, and i'm glad i bought it instead of paying more for a different brand.

it's not hard to break; mine is very smooth now that it's broken in.  i can reload and regain my sight picture in a couple seconds when shooting from a bench.

i didn't particularly care for the quick release bipod rail because mine wabbled quite a bit, so i removed it and mounted my bipod more permanently with a couple of machine screws.  now it's as solid as a rock.

lefty, mine cants to the left also.  i'm right handed though, so i think it's comfortable.
When the whole world is crashing down around me, atleast I'll have my SKS.

Thanks for the reply.  I didn't mean to "hijack", but if I wanted the rifel, I needed to know pretty quickly.

Guess I'm going to go with the SURVIVOR stock and see about getting a checkpiece for it or making one.

BTW, great rifle guys
