Artillery
« on: October 24, 2006, 08:45:49 AM »
I have to do my shooting out of a wheel chair which raises a question.  If My wheels move after fireing the 375 RUM, will I be considered mobile artillery?

Unfortunately the rules are quite clear.
1) You are mobile artillery if you are enlisted in the military.
2) You are a destructive device if you are not enlisted in the military.

Check with BATFE before doing anything because for some strange reason they don't allow federal prisoners to engage in target shooting while incarcerated.  ;)

LMAO ! when I first read it, I thought it was a serious post, then ends it with "will I be considered mobile artillery?" and I just couldn't hold it

You have a big advantage in a wheelchair, you can shoot as big a gun as you want. You won't feel very much recoil. Just don't do it on the top of a hill. If you wan't to have some fun, lock up the off wheel and let the gun spin you in circles. Don't ask me how I know about this. :)

I was a canoneer 13 Bravo in the Army, You would be considered, a "'self propelled Howitzer'', Like the M109 155 mm and the m110 8"' Howitzer. Yes,, even these big guns, (26-32 ton) move when fired. Max charges can lift the 32 ton m110 in the air and burry the rear spade even deeper in the ground. You are a fine artillery man. Good luck. God bless! p.s. forgive the spealin, I just a not smart soldier. Just ask John Kerry!

I think the weapon would have to somehow be fixed to the vehicle to Qualify as artillery.
A mobile battery maybe?  ;D Vehicle carries the gun crew the weapon and spare
ammunition. I think you would definately qualify there !
