Just back from a boar hunt in Vt.
« on: October 21, 2006, 11:00:34 AM »
My brother and I just got back from a preserve hunt in Vt. Both of us got sows that the butcher estimated at 275 lbs.  My brother used a S&W 500, while I used my shorty Contender in 50-70.  I will post a longer story, and hopefully some pictures, (if I can figure out how), either here or on the handgun hunting site.  This was my second handgun hog, but won't be my last!

Sorry for the wait guys, I was inded at Wild Hill, and we started out on stand, but the guide came and got us, saying one of the bow guys had arrowed one, and there was a pair of good hogs running with them.  We ended up doing the spot and stalk thing which was exciting.  Watch out for the water buffalo.  (Seriously), they have at least one big one roaming around in there, and he isn't nice, and chased me for at least 150 yds.  A single shot pistol didn't seem like such a good idea at that particular moment.  I am still trying to get the pictures on.  Good luck on your trip!
