adding iron sights
« on: October 20, 2006, 08:51:46 PM »
hi i'd like to add iron sights to my rifle more specificly a reciver sight and then since my rifle didn't come with a front sight haveing it drilled or dovetailed in. now my question is how much would the work to put a new front sight on cost? and then what kind of reciever sight? i've looked at williams and XS sights kinda prefer the williams since i've never used XS. this is going on my 30-06 vanguard and will quite possibly take the place of my scope. i want to do something a little diffrent and kinda like the fact that my rifle will be lighter i know i could just replace the scope and mounts (which i still might do) but like i said just want to be a little diffrent. thanks

Believe it or not,i had the same idea a few months back,I think you are on the right track.
Just have a COMPETENT gunsmith do it.The bore should not be drilled into,so be aware of that. ???

Satchel,

Since you like the Williams, call them and get a quote. They provide gunsmithing services.

If you can get steadier, get steadier.
