mossberg 100 atr the best by i ever made

I just picked me up a ATR in 30-06 i took it to the gun range pulled it out of the box and put my Bushnell 4x12x40 scope on. I decided to start off with a box of Hornady 150 gr SST on the third shot i had it sighted in @ 100 yrds 1.5'' high. I put me up another target just to make sure i didn't pull on the last shot. I then put three shots in a 3/4 group i could not belive it. I then decided to go 200 yrds and shot 1'' high and 1.5'' group. For the money the is the best rifle i ever bought I've got 345 dollars in this gun and had it shooting in just three shots.

Congratualtion on the new ATR and exellent shooting. 

You're not the first person to claims superb groups out of the box with an ATR. 

There are a few guys here that have the ATR and have been very impressed with them.  I've had a .30-06 ATR since just after they arrived on the market and consistantly get exellent groups with Remington 180gr Core Locts and Winchester 180 gr Power Points.  I've been looking for a .308 with a hardwood stock.  My local dealer recently located one.  It should be here sometime this week.

There are a few threads regarding the ATR, unfortunately the search feature doesn't work very well at the moment.  If you find the time, you may want to do a little manual searching.

Why is it that rifles we concider good rifles get more expensive and rifles,,,,,,,,,,some concider junk just keep shooting better?

Have a .270 that shoots good with 130 grain Power Points. Broke the rear molded in sling swivel mount first time to the range with it. Seems to be a weak point. Put in a screw in type and called it good. Mossberg offered to replace the stock if I would send it to Texas, but didn't seem worth the effort. Will probably buy a 30-06 before next year. Glad yours is working out.

I just finished jeweling a bolt from an ATR.  It is by far the simplest, and easiest to take apart for maintenance, that I've come across.
