OK I'll bite, what is it? I find no such gun listed on Remington's site. Try again this time with the correct name and maybe someone will comment not just look and wonder.

I have not shot one, but have looked at a couple in my .22-250 comparison to the new Savage thumbhole (12btvss I think). The way I understand it, the 700 vlssth is a limited edition with about 500 made per year, therefore not in the books or website. I looked at a 2004-05 model (Brown laminate SS bull non-fluted) and a 2006 model (Black/Grey laminate SS with black flutes). The finishes on both were very good, better that the Savage's finish and the black flutes were very nice looking. One of my freinds said he had shot both and that the vlss shot good but took longer to break in than the Savage.

I bought one in 22-250 recently; didn't like the fit of the Savage I was looking at, and the Remington looks and fits great. Shoots as well as I'd hoped; I'm in the process of working up loads, but 8 out of 10 groups are under 1" out of the box using factory loads, as well as all of the faster loads I've created for it. A little heavy, but it is a varmint rifle.  8)
