Hmmmmmm....yes, I kinda remember the .17 caliber Remington cartridge. It was a "hot" little varmint cartridge that pushed a 25 grain bullet at about 4,000 fps, as I recall.
It never got very popular 'cause even a little wind would move that tiny bullet around... and you had to buy a special cleaning rod 'cause a .22 caliber cleaning rod wouldn't fit it. That's why the bore is so dirty... that gun dealer does NOT have a cleaning rod small enough to fit down that rifle's bore.
The Remington BDL is a fine rifle, but I sure would NOT pay that much for a used one, especially in that caliber.
