Geez, when it rains, it pours!!!

Not just talking weather either, last weekend, we awoke to a soggy refrigerator, it quit sometime the day before apparently, water on the floor from melting ice in the freezer. Got it running again temporarily after some internet searches, thought it was a bad thermostat, then it quit again, did some more checking and found the defrost timer was bad which I was able to get running again by removing the motor from the timer and advancing it manually getting the fridge started again. So then we decided it was time for a new fridge since this one's 15yrs old, found a great buy at Lowes on a $2500 french door model (which is what the wife has wanted for a long time) for $1700, only problem is it's an inch too tall to fit under the cabinet as is most everything we could find that met her criteria!

So the next couple days I spend modifying the kitchen cabinets to make room for it. Not only is the new fridge taller, it's much bigger and the doors have to be removed to even get it in the house, furniture rearrange a get it thru the house to the kitchen(older homes are a PITA

). Now I have to get rid of the old fridge, we'll have to move it ourselves, my achin back.
Then my wife's brother calls, he's in the hospital with a broken collar bone and fractured hip, he's had terminal cancer for a few months now, it's gone into his bones, he lives 150 miles away, he's since been transferred to a rehab facility now and his condition has stabilized.
Needless to say, the long awaited range trip is on hold, maybe this coming week the stars and planets will align!
