CZ Over & Under

A local dealer has one and I like it.  Would it be ok for skeet shooting?

Never owned one so can't say anything good or bad about CZ.

One thing to keep in mind is that it probably has some cast-off in the stock - all the European SxS's and O/U's I've handled have had some.  Although some people like this feature I don't care for it.

Yes they are excellent buys very good guns. All the Huglu made guns I've personally owned or that have been owned by folks I know well have been 100% reliable. I'd not hesitate to buy one at a good price point.

While I do not own a CZ O/U I do own a S/S.

They are very good quality for the price.  I shoot skeet pretty good with it, the gun just fits me and shoots good but as we know that is an individual thing.

I picked one up for cheap with extractors rather than ejectors. It has shot a lot of doves and clay pigeons with never a hiccup.  It works good for clays but when the doves are plentiful I like ejectors for the faster reloads.   I bought a used Franchi for the same money with ejectors that is a little lighter and faster to swing and reload.

Bought a CZ in September and have never had worse customer service.  The gun, quite literally, doesn't shoot straight.  The barrel is mounted badly on the reciever.  Since the barrel itself is straight, the sights line up (both mounted on the barrel), they just don't line up with the reciever.  They told me it was my problem and refused to fix it.  Couldn't believe it.  I got madder and madder as I worked my way up to the manager.  He told me, simply, their policy is that if they can get it on paper with a scope, it's not broken.  That it was crooked enough it wouldn't sight in with a receiver mounted peep is my problem.  Make sure you get a sight system with a lot of travel, apparently.

Also, they refused to let me drop my gun off, even though the repair facility is minutes from my office.  Instead I had to return it to the dealer, who lives farther away, so that he could ship it...

If I worked really hard I couldn't come up with something nice to say about CZ at this point.  I'm through.  There are companies out there that care about the quality of the product they make and the quality of the people they hire.  CZ does not.

I've got one in 20 gauge which I use as my #1 skeet gun and for back-up for my 20g 1100 for dove. It has been a very good shotgun and I wouldn't hesitate to buy another CZ. Mine was manufactured by Hugolo (spelling?) for CZ. I had heard that CZ intended to make their own shotguns and I don't know if that is the case today.
