Thanks for the information, Tim! You can tell what I know about 'em, other than pulling the trigger. I gave it a wipe-down and good inspection, and one of the pins through the receiver is 'freckling'. Not enough that I'm going to worry about it, it's still a NOS (new, old stock) set.
Think I'll pack it back up, stick it in the back of the closet, and wait for the 'right' Grandkid.
Speaking of Grandkids, several years back, I picked up a "Chipmunk" blue/walnut .22 single shot, then one of Rogue River's bases, and mounted a 'vintage' Weaver .22 scope on it. One of the Grandsons (his mom read him bedtime 'stories' out of the Smith & Wesson catalog, and that ain't no bull!) borrowed the thing. Three years ago. He keeps telling me he and his Dad clean it once a month, and it's still in good shape. Last year, I bought a youth model Pardner .410, and when I showed it to him, he says "Grampa Pow, I'll trade you a single shot .22 for it"....
BTW, I ain't never been Grampa Walton to this kid, when he'd come down to the 'dungeon', he'd look at the gun racks, start to quiver, then shake, then levitate about three feet off the ground and stay in hover mode for the rest of the day.
