Got the new Handi .357 Magnum (SB1-35S) cleaned up. The barrel bore was very dirty as expected. Started out with some Birchwood-Casey Bore Scrubber / brushing & wiping down with clean cloth patches about 20 times. Next Kano Kroil, after about 20 times with brush & clean patches it's actually showing very little crud. Included a little Break Free CLP and finished up with EEZOX and the patches are now clean.
I always remove the scope rails and follow the tips in the FAQs and remount, Blue Loctite & torque. When removing the scope rail I used the FAT wrench set at 10 inch lbs. and they all 3 broke free. Removed the loctite from the holes and cleaned with acetone. It appeared to be Loctite Purple in the tapped holes.
Mounted a Simmons ProDiamond 4 X 32 on Burris Z-Rings Medium and had to grind a tad bit off the hammer to keep it clear of the scope.
Got the scope bore sighted and shot 5, then adjusted the scope accordingly and cleaned the bore and the picture shows the next 5 shots @ 25 yds. today using Hornady .38 Special - 158 gr. XTP-JHP. The bottom hole is #1 fired with a bit of EEZOX left in the bore.

No modifications have been made to this Handi yet. No bore polishing, No O-ring, no fore end trimming and my old Lead Sled held the rifle near the barrel stud. The trigger pull sits right at 4.5 lbs.
I'm not sure on the actual date of manufacture but the frame is stamped made in Illion, NY. The Serial Number is CAC 144*** so we'll call it 2008-2009. The manual that came with the rifle has a print date of 11/2009.
A day full of warm sunshine in Oregon and a Handi that shoots well, what else could you ask for?
