Check out this blog.  This guy's 45-70 is awesome!!  Holy smokes!  Also, the following reading about the 45-70 and Tracker II is quite interesting.

  That is a nice looking gun. But I think if you find the picture page here you will be blown away. Quickdtoo and many others here have some outstanding Hnadis. Will see if I can find the thread here are a couple for you.

xhare, the blog author refers to Paul Mathews "40 years with the .45-70" and Robert Ruark's "Use Enough Gun".  Ruark was my hero growing up......Field and Stream, "The Old Man and the Boy".  Mathews book is a must have for .45-70 shooters, especially if you reload.  It certainly disproves the "100 yard rifle" idea.  Ruark's, book gets the point across that I have always believed in "Use Enough Gun".
