Ok so we all have seen many of the different ways for the DIY'er to fit up a new stub and many vering ideas how to and also about the safety for some ideas.
So my question,
as I have not yet done a "Custom Handi stub", what if..
1- You take a shotgun barrel for the stub,( I am thinking 20ga would probably be the best choice for the least amount of material to remove???)
2- Your specific chambered barrel of choice...)I am thinking about sticking to the lower pressure cartridges like our 357

)
3- A large enough Die and Tap set... (I realize it would be large..)
4- After working down the outside of the chamber end of the barrel to the exact size Dia.
5- You tap out the inside of the 20ga stub..
6- You thread the outside Dia. of the chambered barrel
7- You install a frontal barrel lug to correct the head space
8- You perhaps used JB Weld on the threads and tack weld around the Lug to ensure you have a permanent barrel...

Again
this is just an idea I have been throwing around in my head, and it's
rough to say the least.
Larry what do you say? to make it a permanet solid barrel not legally a 'sawed off".
Could this work safely?
