help!!!!!!!!!
« on: October 27, 2008, 11:02:45 AM »
Good day,

I have a Savage 110, new, that I've been painting for a predator rifle.
After cleaning the bore, I've discovered the safety will not disengage the trigger.
Now it's important to understand I need instructions for a hammer.  Twisted off six Craftsman screwdriver sets until someone told me I was going the wrong way -- story of my life!
Sooooooo, I can see the safety engaged in the notch in the trigger, but will not move after the action is cocked.  Can you help?
Hope you have a good evening.

God Bless

Bolt handle turned all the way down?

Well,

Guess it helps to read the instructions.  Still don't know what the lever is for, but can not believe I've got so old I just didn't see the safety on the tang.
Yea, that's dumb!!  Sorry for taking up your time.  Now, if I can just find a bigger hammer!!!

God Bless

The lever on the side is the sear. You pull the trigger and push it forward at the same time to remove the bolt. BTW, the safety won't work if the gun's not cocked.

I had to read and reread your post after mine to understand what was going on. I could not figure out why the safety wouldn't disengage as it is a simple trigger assembly. No harm. Safe hunting and shooting, Dave
