Hi Victorcharlie,almost all my hunting is done in Lincoln County and yes the fit and finish is very good on these rifles.

Greybeard gave you good advice.  A Mod 7 Rem is my choice.  Maybe 7mm-08 instead of 270.  I have both in Rems.  Don't overlook the 280 either.

You know, I have to totally agree with this.....  If you think about it, the guns that are used to hunt the most dangerous prey (our military guns), I don't think that a single one of them is controlled round feed at all.  The Army and Marine Corp. sniper rifles aren't, none of the semi or fully automatic guns are....  If it really made that big of a difference in reliability, you'd think that the designers of the military weapons would incorporate it.
