Yeah....I'm always tryin to get "efficient" when I go out. That's because I seem to have to take "stuff" with me to accommodate my disability. I hate crossbows because they are heavy and clumsy....so I have a compound set on a lighter draw....but I have to have a sling on it 'cause I can't carry it in my left hand for long time periods. I can shoot the bow with the sling attached, or I can remove the sling when I get to where I want to be. (Not that I shoot when I am walking.....but sometimes when I make it in a stand, the sling is nice to hook up when I want to just stand up for a time)
But the light thing is nice because I can scan left\right and up\down for those fox "marble" eyes, and when I find 'em, I just drop the 22 mag on the stick and I'm pretty much there. The light battery is attached to my belt and I hooked up an on\off switch to the battery.
So, I don't have to carry a separate light 'n battery. Before this year (here in PA) you were not allowed to have a gun mounted light. Even now with the law change, you can't scan with a gun mounted light. You must still scan with a non-gun mounted light, then once you make positive ID, you can then use a gun mounted light. I figure by the time I do all of that.....it would be lunch time.
