Here was my one and only experience. I was already a reader of this site and particularly (the H&R rifles). I found out there was a sale going on in the barrel program. I bought an Ultra in .223 REM with the express reason to add a couple of barrels to it. I also found out through this site that they were out of 44 MAG barrels and you should call before ordering to find out what was in stock. I wanted a 44 because I already had a handgun and Marlin 1894 in 44 mag. Well I called, I found out that yes indeed they did not have any 44s and they were not going to have them for a while.

I had to agonize over what to get. I finally decided on a 357 Mag barrel and a 30-30 barrel. I knew they had them because I checked. Very friendly and quick, I felt like she what she was talking about. I sent in the receiver (unshot) and stock with apprehension because it was laminated and I had read on this site again that they get banged up. But I did not have any other to send in.

While I was at it I got ultra mounts for the barrels because both of them had iron sights. Well I've got this pretty long already. It took about 5-6 weeks to get them back. Every thing was in the box. The stock was not marked up, dinged or any other damage that I could see

. I found and extra hammer spur that I did not order (already had one) and an extra forearm screw in the box. I thought the service was outstanding in every way. I could not think of anything they could have done better.

I was getting ichy to bust a cap or two but expected a longer leade time with the return of the barrels. BTW I think the two barrels I bought in the barrel program fit better than the original one did.
