Midway sometimes has the Simmons Whitetail Classic 6.5x20x50 scopes on sale for $99. It is a great buy, but not always available. They are excellent scopes, with a clear brite image all the way up to 20x. Check the website and see if you can get one. I bought one a while back and put it in the safe. I'm looking into a Handi in .223, and when I finally find the gun, I'll have the scope ready to go. I don't like BSA - had a couple problems with point of impact shifting, but that's just my opinion.
If you have a few more bucks to spend, look at the Nikon Buckmasters. They are also an excellent value. I have two of them - one on a Ruger M77 in 30/06 and one on a Ruger M77 in .350 Rem Mag. No problems with either one. I think that the Buckmaster line is better than the Monarchs, and less expensive.
