Thanks for the insight. The scope on this rifle is one I bought for a .223 for my son to use, but I found that the 3-9x Leupold I originally had on the .270 was easier for my son to use because of more generous eye relief. The 6-24x is one of those $75 Tascos. It works, but agree it's a mismatch for the .270. As-is, the rifle is a pronghorn and mule deer rig and at 6x the scope is pretty darned good and includes a mil-dot reticle.
Not sure where to start with prices, but I'll try to sell it as a package to a gun buff looking for such a rig. I'd also include RCBS dies, some bullets, and about 100 cases of relatively new brass.
I'll stew on this and see if I can figure out a fair price.
