Stock offset..............
« on: February 19, 2003, 03:37:43 PM »
Marsh,
This is very common and even desired for the correct fit. On a right handed stock as an example if the stock is offset away from the face this is "cast-off" if the stock is offset where the stock is closer to the face this is "cast-on"./ The two most common are cast-off for a right handed shooter and cast-on for a left handed shooter. This gives the shooter a more centralized sight picture and positions the eye directly in line with the sight's for a "Repeatable" sight picture.

Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in one pretty and well preserved piece, but to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, worn out and defiantly shouting "WOW, what a ride!"
