Two Subjects...
I recall reading something about those who bought Tikka 3s and sprayed foam insulation into the synthetic stock to eliminate the "hollow" sound. That's my only complaint about the T3 synthetic...that hollow stock sound. I took the recoil pad off my T3 and there is definititely room for "foam insulation" to dampen the hollow sound without adding weight. Any reports of the insulation expanding to the point of breaking the stock?
Has anyone tried this?
On another subject.
Zachary...You and others seem to have a problem with the T3 not being a short action. When I put a .308 in my magazine, work the bolt, it only travels to the limit of the .308. The bolt does not travel all the way to the rear as if a .270 or 30-06 were in the magazine. Therefore, I submit that even though it is a long action magazine, it still is a short action if using a .308.
I took my new Tikka T3 out to Texas last year. Three shots....a fallow deer, a whitetail buck and whitetail doe. At the range it is MOA. What more can you ask of a rifle? Got mine from Walmart for $408 plus tax, and that joke they call state check...simply an added tax.
