Turning my wife's words againist her!!
« on: February 19, 2012, 10:07:20 AM »
Wife and I went the range a couple of days ago and I made a comment about her how she was bending backwards while standing and shooting one of her rifles.  She said that all her rifles are too heavy and she has to bend backwards to hold them up.  My first thought was to get a couple of new hacksaw blades and go to work. :o   Then it occurred to me that this seemed like an opening to BUY ANOTHER HANDI RIFLE. 8)   So I took her "they are too heavy" comment to heart and went and  bought a NIB 243 Super Light Yooth Model with black plastic furniture and open sights.  I wonder if H&R shortens their barrels with a hacksaw and a file? ::)

I bought a .308 last week. No file marks on the crown. BUT looks like they did to the last 1 1/2" of the outside of the barrel :o . I would have left it at the store, but after checking 8-9(lost count) shops and a show over the last couple weeks. It was the only H&R .308 to be found ::)   I really want a .358 win so I figured I would sacrefice a little.

Tom, you're a sly old fox ::)   That's exactly how Patty's 7mm SL came to be.

Lonny, I must be missing something.  If you bought the .308 to build a .358, how are you going to do that? ??? ???   If you want a .358, I'd recommend doing the .356 and be able to shoot both.

Pete
