777 & Compression ???
« Reply #60 on: January 02, 2004, 02:16:36 AM »
WD45,
It was 777 FFG.

ButlerFord45,
With regards as to which powder tested had the least velocity variation (lowest to highest) in a 5 shot string with the 250 gr. bullets:

Goex FFG - 22 f.p.s.
Goex FFFG - 23 f.p.s.
Swiss FFG - 22 f.p.s.
Swiss FFFG - 47 f.p.s.
(with a 300 gr. bullet, Swiss FFFG gave a variation of only 6 f.p.s.)

Pyrodex P - 26 f.p.s.
Pyrodex RS - 31 f.p.s.
Pyrodex Select - 50 f.p.s.

777 FFG - 300 primer - 50 f.p.s.
777 FFG - WLP primer - 36 f.p.s.
777 FFG - 155 primer - 26 f.p.s.

Hope that helps.
