Survivor Recoil?

Is it my imagination or do the 308 Survivors tend to be a little abusive?  Any suggestions??

Never noticed the recoil when I had mine. Could be the stock configuration that's harder on some folks. I liked the style of the little gun but would have liked it in stainless better. Or nickled like the 357 mag survivor I owned years ago.

The 308 can get a little intense after long range sessions.  My son in law has one and traded me for a wood stock.  I put the survivor stock on my 223 where recoil isn't an issue.  He used a slip on pad for range sessions and took it off for hunting.

It's a bit abusive in the .308.  By the time I got it sighted in a group tested my shoulder was bruised for about a week.  (BTW, I was using sandbags and had a good cheek weld and proper pressure being held to my shoulder.)  The survivor rifles are a bad concept for an actual survival rifle.  There is no need for a bull bbl on a survival rifle plus it should have a 16" bbl anyway, the stock needs a recoil pad fitted, some form of flash hider should be attached w/ standard threads to accept a suppressor.  The list goes on...
I'm voting 3rd party in this election by writing in Jesus Christ for president.  Sadly even if this were an option most of you would still vote Republican because "It's a two party system."
