How is anyone expected to take "global warming", or "climate change", or whatever it might be called, seriously when its most ardent believers are claining that one of the main causes is cow farts?  Now if they were claiming that the emissions exuding from Algore were a prime cause of concern--I"m there.

Shootall,
The last lime people followed VA it resulted in a war that lasted 4 years. ;D  And since 1861 we realized it was a bad idea.  I think the proximity to DC has a lot to do with it.   :D

OK.  Good call.
But this is a discussion for another post.
Hey I know why Va is colder this year than last.
All the hot air being generated in DC is causing a firestorm and sucking in air from every where else as it rises.  the more that is generated and rises, the more air is needed to replace it.
So I am guessing since january 20th all the air you see in VA has come crom the south pole.  :D

The latest scoop is that the wind is dying out and now it wont support wind turbine electricity production. in the local paper just today. now we cant drill for gas or oil, the wind is going away, atomic is out of the question, obama has promised to tax coal out of use,we have to tear down the dams for the salmon, global warming is going to cause an increase in cloud cover and the sun never shines at night, Just were am i going to get the electricity to charge my new electric car obama wants me to buy???

You could harness the emissions from the cow farts. :)

We just need to build a wind farm near Washington DC.   Plenty of windbags there to turn those turbines.

This old earth has managed to move thru a bunch of climate changes from ice ages to very hot times all on its own without the help or hinderance of mankind. I suspect it will do so many more times and there ain't one damn thing humans can do to alter that course.

This whole global warming thing is complete rubbish! I heard a sound bite from Al Gore
the other day commenting on global warming. He said "The debate is over". Really?
I thought that was pretty ludicrous, seeing how he would never agree to debate
anyone on the subject. If he were to debate anyone with any knowledge on the subject
he would be exposed for the complete fraud he is in about 30 seconds. You could
start of with, "So Al. You belive in this whole global warming deal right"? "Yes I do".
"Then could you please explain how the earth has gone through almost half a dozen
ice ages since the beginning of time where ice has covered much of the earth then
receeded repeatedly"? "Is it not possible that this phenomenon is a cyclic event".
"After all this of course happened before soccer moms started driving suv's and
the smokestacks of industry were belching out greenhouse gasses didn't it"?
I want to know why none of these global warming people ever say anything to critisize
China or India for their complete lack of enviromental controls. It's always the
"bad old USA destroying the ozone layer and polluting at will". We have the
highest enviromental standards in the world. Our industry has to jump through
so many hoops just to put out products, that it's a wonder anything gets
made at all. These people are nothing but a bunch of modern day carpetbaggers.

If Al Gore is so concerned about global warming let him be the first to sell his mega mansion and his gas guzzling SUV and luxury cars.  Like that will ever happen.

Ever notice that these twits want everyone else to make sacrifices while they keep right on doing as they please.

Carbon Tax and Trade Tariffs

Global Warming is So Much Hyped.  Do You Know There is NO Scientific Evidence to Prove it?

Many support the carbon tax and trade tariffs now being discussed in Congress as a way to stop carbon dioxide emissions and the supposed harm to the environment. Global warming is what it is called. However, there is no scientific proof that it exists. The editors of INVESTOR’S BUSINESS DAILY (IBD; June 17) and many credible scientists have this opinion. Global warming is a simply an assumption, lacking any evidence, advanced by Gore and the scientists who get their support from groups that mistakenly back the concept. The earth and universe are billions of years old. What we are seeing is just a blip on the time line. In the ‘60s, the US Navy warned us of the return of another ice age overcoming us again because they found ocean temperatures going down. The only thing that happened was that it was great for fish: their numbers exploded because krill etc (their food) grew like mad.

The flaw that IBD cites is that the environmentalists all argued for mass transit as the best way to have transportation for the masses. They argued that removing cars, trucks, and planes would eliminate a great amount of pollution, carbon dioxide that is causing the warming. Well, the scientists found out just recently that that is not the case. As an aside we can confidently say that carbon dioxide is not a pollutant.

Engineers from University of California, Chester and Horvath, demolished the cherished view that public transportation will have a smaller carbon print that private cars, trucks and planes. Private automobiles have a smaller print than public modes of transport. How?

Well, of course when you measure tail pipe emissions of a car or SUV versus a train or bus, the carbon output is great. However, one should measure everything involved in transport to get a fair idea of carbon prints. These two engineers looked at the full life cycle of eleven modes of transportation and tailpipe emissions. They got a clear picture of things by examining emissions discharged in building the infrastructure and maintaining it over its lifetime, building the car, train or plane and what it takes to run them.

In brief, they found that the carbon footprint of rail was greater than that of cars and light trucks. When passenger numbers are considered, cars and light trucks are even more green that the rails. In addition, rail compares poorly when compared to cars in sulfur dioxide pollutant. A real toxin to people. Maybe we need to look at this a lot more. SUVs may not be dinosaurs after all.

What Is A Veteran?
A 'Veteran' -- whether active duty, discharged, retired, or reserve -- is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America,' for an amount of 'up to, and including his life.' That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country today who no longer understand that fact.

The article points out one of the biggest misconceptions or flaws to the carbon footprint comparisons many of the so called scientist are conducting.

For example; If you just look at the surface you would say an electric car has no carbon footprint (emissions) when compared to a gas powered automobile.   But dig deeper and you find that the manufacturing process in making the battery packs in the electric automobiles and the production of the electric energy required to charge them creat as much if not more carbon emissions than the good old fashion gas engined variety.

In addition to this many noted scientist believe the whole global warming/carbon emission connection is waaay over stated.   There findings indicate that sun spot and solar flare cycles have a greater effect on our planets climate than anything man has done.

So Al Gore, kiss my gaseous @$$!   :-*

p.s.; I'm surprised that some liberal individual or group has not linked the discharge of small arms ammunition to global warming yet.    Ooops, hope they aren't reading this.  :-X

Every where I look, the temperatures are cooler this year... Here in Delaware we have had the coolest June in as many years I have lived here. I know I work outside everyday.

Global Warming was another way the democraps could try to make people pay more taxes, to prove he's as a BS artist, would take away the tax possibility

Don't know about global warming but it's warmed up down here fer shore. At 4:00 PM today it was 95 in the shade on my back porch. Dat's pretty warm for summer just now getting started. In spite of heavy rains all year up until just a couple weeks ago it's already dried out down here. I dug some holes today to plant some more blueberry bushes and it was bone dry a foot deep.
