Today was a good day!
« on: November 27, 2008, 06:20:32 PM »
This old gal was sneaking around and appeared out of nowhere about 60 yards out. The H&R 45/70 laid her down in her tracks. This is my first deer of the season, and killed on a small plot of 80 acres. I was hunting over a 100 yard rye grass food plot, so I left the Exomax crossbow at home.

Way to go PPCFlyer,
What load were you using in your 45-70?

GOOD SHOOTING!

Very nice, looks like good venison.  My Handi .45-70 has been silent.  Haven't seen a deer I want to shoot; meaning a year and a half old doe.  I have today and tomorrow and then it will be crossbow for a few days, then Huntsman and then back to the crossbow for the rest of December.
