Greg...What kind of velocity are you getting from that 220 S?  I have a set of HI daller RCBS competitionsdies and 6 boxes of Hornday loads I need to start using up left over from a Ruger 220 S target model I got rid of, plus a standard .223 donor barrel that needs a new chamber.

Thanks

NFG,

With the 24" Ultra bull barrel I have been pushing 50gr to about 3850-3900fps, the 40gr are doing right at 4000fps. I shot up a couple boxes of hornady ammo and the listed speeds on the box were very close to what I was getting over dad's chronograph. I am not sure how it would do in the 22" standard barrel, but it should do just fine. I had mine done by Wayne York and that is who I will go back to for my next rechamber job.

Thanks Greg...that sounds about right.  I'm thinking about just using the barrel as a stub receiver and getting a barrel blank somewhere around 26-28" to use.  Still have several projects finishing up and a couple higher on the list to start.  Always liked the Swift...I've had 5 over the years.  Shoot them for a while then they seem to end up rechambered to a larger cased wildcat.  Keep the 50 gr around 3800 and the cases and barrel will last a long time.
