Jro45 -- If you look in the CZ section of this forum that very subject is covered. In short, however, yes, the stocks do need to have the action glass bedded and many say have crossbolts installed. I do not know why CZ does not address this issue, however, it only seems to have issues with the really heavy-recoiling rifles. I don't own a heavy-recoiling rifle, but have read where stocks have cracked under heavy recoil without the glassbedding and crossbolts, or just glassbedding. The issue on this topic, however, is with the CZ 550 in a 6.5x55, which is not a heavy-recoiling rifle. I have never heard of any stocks cracking with the lower-recoiling rifles. In answer to this question. I owned a Ruger Mark II in 7x57mm. For some reason I still cannot explain, the accuracy just went south on me ... same load, same bullets, same rifle, same shooting bags, same everything, but not the same accuracy. My one-inch grouping rifle turned into one going three or more inches, and at three inches, Ruger said that was "acceptable" accuracy. To cut this story off at a decent lenght, I sold the Ruger and bought a CZ, in the same caliber, 7x57mm. Accuracy has been exceptional in the CZ. It cycles as smooth as a baby's butt, has a beautiful stock, had an easily-adjustable trigger with a set feature. I just like it ... period. I would do it again in a heartbeat. Tom Purdom
