Canned Soup
« on: December 16, 2025, 07:49:44 AM »

I went to the store recently looking for some thing to add to a what once was chilli but due to putting left over stuff in it, still had a bite but was not really chilli any more.

The local grocery store had canned Campbells soups on  sale.  Now these are not the condensed ones but the large chunky soups.
They were on "sale" for 2.49 a can, so I bought one Hearty Beef and Barley and a Sirloin Burger with Country Vegetalbes.
I put them in the kinda-sorta chilli, to which I had already add corn I cut off the cob and froze and a can of tomatoes and jalapenos.
I came out pretty darn good.

Hey Bob; are you one of those "poor people' who eat Campbell's products?  LOL..   https://www.cbc.ca/news/world/campbell-soup-lawsuit-9.6991398

Well, I guess I am one, since i like baked beans, and buy Campbell's pork & beans, as often as other brands, and the most reasonable in price.  I also use their tomato soup to go along with a grilled cheese, especially on a cold, winter day !

I find that canned beans offer an excellent source of protein, and I  do like them.  However, I usually try to save them for a later meal, after which I spend the evening alone as usual.. :D ;D  .....for obvious reasons...

I am just entering into the burrito game, and make up my own burritos with what I have, usually beans with sliced & diced pepperoni or some other meat, some grated cheddar, touch of BBQ sauce...and nuke it for a minute before folding..  OK...and it keeps me alive...
