one guy here said it is possible to save some money & have a gunsmith adjust it...Depends on how light u want it & what u are willing to spend ...The SAV-2 is about 140.00 bucks..not difficult to install ..[if u are handi & can polish the sear nicely...just the edges not the mating surface]...that one costs the most of any aftermarket trigger that is easy to fit in there..but it is sweet..I posted something here about it...I think of stevens & savage rifles as diamonds in the rough...after the trigger upgrade u will want a better stock ...Then better sights..by then u will want a custom barrel...The best part is u can do it all yourself...welcome to my obssecion...mike in ct[/img]

on the underside of the action there is a silver screw with a wire running over top of it...turn this screw back a couple clicks and try the trigger, repeat until it is how you wish it to be.

then put it all back together and make sure the safety works, bump the butt hard on the floor, play with the safety and trigger and mae sure it will not slip off of safety.

rs,

I put Timney triggers on both my Savage 11 and my Stevens 200, they run $60 to $70.  They are easy to install and have instructions as to how to adjust.  In my opinion they are well worth the money.
Good Shooting,
George

Thanks everyone for the replies,i took the easiest (only )way out today, and adjusted the trigger down a few clicks, and it made a world of difference, just came in from the bench with a ten shot (100yd) group at 7/8".  I am satisfied for now, think i will look for a stock before a aftermarket trigger.          THanks Bob
