I did not buy Winchester then and I most certainly would not pay an outrageous price for them now. To many other good rifles out there.  :D

They got 70's stacked up like cord wood at the local Gander Mtn. Wood, the fit and finish is awful for 700 bucks +.. I bought one in the late 80's
when they were much nicer. Even then I just didn't like the fit to me
(6'5"), so I sold it. My bet is that the Japanese will soon produce much better 70's....! I'd much rather have a Howa 1500!

I can understand thier prices going up,

I can also underestand why people are, all of a sudden paying more than 2x what they were worth 6 months ago

I can defenetly Undrestand that type of a price if that rifle was a 375 h&h

But what I CAN NOT underestand is WHY THE HELL WOULD ANYONE PAY $2000 FOR A 325 WSM..... any 325 WSM rifle should not be higher than $200, its such a useless round lol

sentimental folks? ("good ole' American legend fades into oblivion")?
misunderstanding the difference between buying guns and investing for retirement?

Speaking of Sako: dear wife got a good tax refund for us, so she upgraded me from a Tikka T3 .308 with a Burris scope to a Sako 75 6.5 Swedish with a Schmidt and Bender scope. It costs less than that Winchester, and it's good enough to make me smile when i look at anything else. I shot a wild hog with it, 156 gr. Norma ammo: it penetrated the entire pig lengthwise.

Mark Twain once said, "Buy real estate, they've quit makin' it". I'd bet he'd go goggle eyed at the amount I paid just 10 years ago. I'm goggle eyed at the amount folks are gettin' for it now.

Everythings expensive even when I bought my 270 Win a few years ago. But I would never spend that much on a 325 Win. :D
