I'm stuck in Bethesda for a couple months. What are some must see things here abouts which are easy to get to using the metro or other public transport?

A little off season for the 4th of July fireworks.

Let me name a few things, not necessarily BPM&C related:

RESTAURANTS!
China Town
Ford Theater
National Cathedral
The Zoo
The capitol building
NRA Museum

I drive in from 4-5 hours SW and leave the car at the NEAREST Metro stop!

Pyro,

The Navy Museum and Navy Yard in DC have maybe a hundred guns or more here and there. scattered around.

Here are a couple inside.

Here are some in outside storage.

That's my wife standing at the muzzle of the gray battleship gun.

You need to pre arrange your visit if you don't have a Gov't ID.

Here is a link to the museum.

Go on the net and check for the schedule of the shuttle that goes from the Air and Space Museum on the Mall to the Air and Space museum  out by Dulles Airport.  http://www.nasm.si.edu/visit/ The new Museum is awesome.

The shuttle is not free ($12) but well worth it.  Go early!
