Stock Switch!

OK Gurus,

Help me out!

I have the Survivor 308 HB and want to put the Laminated Cinnamon wood stocks on. H&R wants $86.00 for the stock and fore-end.

But......I am thinking I can buy the SB1-822 Ultra Rifle 22Mag/22HB for $135.00 at Wally World and then switch the stocks and fore-ends. This would leave the 22Mag as a knock-around gun and give the 308 HB more weight.

Will this switch work?

Thanks,

Should work fine, unless there is a difference in the forend barrel channel due to barrel contour.

Thanks guys, I hoped this would work as the barrels are both HB's and looked to be the same contour. It's like getting another rifle for about $50.00.

And Quick, I am gratified!

I wanted a .17 with the laminated stock, but they only come with composite stocks.  So I bought a .22WMR with the laminated as well and switched stocks.  For slightly more than the replacement laminate stocks would have cost I have the rifle I want, as well as a .22 WMR for my son.  I did the switch yesterday and the laminated forearm fit the .17 perfectly.  I will have to do some more minor fitting for the composite forearm on the .22.   The butt stocks are fully interchangeable.
