Bullseye,

Do you shot factory stuff? I just bought a 25-06 encore. It'll shoot the factory Rem 100gr shell great! 5 shots inside an inch. Shoot  the factory 120 gr shells and it throws em all over the place. I'm talking 6in groups(or is it a pattern when it gets this big??)! I've got dies coming for it and will be reloading. Any preferences that your rifle likes?

Does the difference in performance between the 100 grain bullets and the 120 grain bullets have anything to do with barrel twist?

Ron,
I contacted Fox Ridge and asked about twist and they couldn't/wouldn't tel me anything. I haven't been able to find anything that would tell me the twist rate. The way this gun slings em around, that was the first thought that ran around in this empty head of mine!

HWD, The twist rate on a factory 25/06 is 1 in 10. Mine will shoot the factory Federal loads using 115 gr. Partitions under an inch as will my handloads using Barnes 100 gr Triple-shocks, but when I loaded some Sierra 117 gr. groups opened up to about 3", I've never had Sierras shoot this bad in anything. I reload for mine with Hornady 100 gr bullets.  It will easily shoot MOA and I have had some groups at 1/2 MOA.  The 100 gr. bullets is all I have really shot seriously with.  I have shot some factory 85 gr and 120 gr bullets when I first got it, but was just sighting the scope in and playing around and did not keep a record of the groups, but as I remember they were acceptable.
