« on: January 15, 2005, 02:04:52 PM »
Hi Guys

Been hangin out here for several months but never posted.  Have learned tons of info here.  Currently have 3 Handi's and have been dyin for a 22 Hornet for a saddle gun.  Just ran across an as new Model 158 Hornet over on Gunbroker.  Was wondering if you guys have had any experience or info on these models such as throat depth, barrel length and over all accuracy.  Any info will be greatly appreciated.  Thanks!

twhrider2, Welcome.I do have a topper 158 .22 hornet. The barrel looks like it might be the same diameter as a new model superlight.Don't now about throat length or anything.will have to get back to you on the barrel length. It is my favorite H&R. It has the color case hardened reciever, that was the main reason I bought it.It also shoots very well.I posted pictures a while back.Maybe Quicktdoo can help with the link to these. :D

Thanks for the information & pics guys, this one caught my attention
because it's unfired & has good case colors.
Was thinking with a Gunstocks Inc. stock and a compact scope this would make a sweet little rifle.
The buy now price is not bad, but adding shipping & ffl fees it's borderline on price.  Have a fairly large gun show coming in a couple of weeks may wait till then to shop.
xp600 if you're interested the auction is #27602560 over at www.gunbroker.com

Someone from here should buy that rifle,If it's in unfired condition it would make a great addition to thier collection.I think thats a fair price.Your going to pay that for a new one anyway, and the new ones don't have the personality like the old ones do.
