Info on Survivor in .308 bull barrel
« on: January 14, 2005, 06:19:00 AM »
I am interested in purchasing a  Survivor in .308 primarily because of the bull barrel, but I don't know anything about it. How does it compare with the Handis? ( I have one in a .243/muzzleloader combo and a .280, which has become my main hunting rifle). What kind of accuracy can I expect with the bull barrel? Is this a gun to just "play" with, or would it function well as a deer rifle? (I know the cartridge works, what about the gun?) How does it compare pricewise with the Handis? Any info would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!!!

The 308 Bull Barrel works great as a deer rifle...I swapped out my stocks for a set of Laminated cinnamon ones...and had a ball with it..it shot a little over 1/2" groups in the first postal match I entered here with it...with Federal Match Ammo...sold it to my next door neighbor(wish I hadn't) and he took 3 deer with it this year...all 1 shot drops...2 does...1 nice buck...
