Happy New year to ya!
Did you get to try any of your home brewed bullets this year? How'd that turn out? :D

Just thought I'd snag the first post in your new home.

JYC:

Happy new year to you too.!!!

I haven't started making the .312's yet, but I've been hunting with my .35's for 5 years now and killed 4 deer with them (I was shut out this year though).

They have the "Hammer of Thor" effect that I was hoping for, but they have exited in every instance - which is something I didn't expect.  I've only been using the standard cores at that.  I've been saving my bonded bullets for moose hunting, but haven't connected with a moose yet.
Hunting is Exciting!  Bolt actions are BORING!!

How did you find the accuracy of the 35's compared to what you have been shooting?
Reason I ask, is that Steve Redgwells custom .313's for the SMLE ( http://www.303british.com ) are easily the most accurate bullet I've shot in those rifles.  I understand he's using the same equipment you are.

I've never been an MOA-type shooter, so I can't quote you a group size, I tend to load for terminal performance rather than precision accuracy.  But when I shoot a piece of paper, I'm certain that my sights were on the spot I hit, and that it wasn't due to the vagaries of the bullet structure.

My design is much more complex than Steve's (it has 2 cores, a jacket and a tip I make myself), so I'd guess that all the processes I go through to make a bullet might lead to a lower degree of accuracy than his.

I probably should turn some of my bullets over to one of the MOA boys, so he can give me a good evaluation of their accuracy.

I'd volunteer, (anything for free bullets) but I don't have a 35.
I'm not a big target shooter anymore either. There was a time that I was in the top three of the local range, but that was too long ago.  :D
