Did anyone else get a complimentary copy of the new paper this week NY outdoor News? I got one in the mail yesterday. I have been looking it over a bit and it seems like a decent paper. Have not decided yet if I am going to get a subscription or not.

Hi Bubba;
I got one in the mail yesterday and I'm kinda with you! Do I or Don't I?

I get magazines already, that I don't really read!  It just seems we get too busy in our daily lives!

For someone looking for hunting info, the paper looks like it would be worth-while!  Especially for that price!

for sure Chuck. How is your hunting going? I am leaning toward picking it up fpr a year and see how it goes. If it isnt all that great I can drop it after the year.

Bubba,

I got the paper and will probably subscribe for a year to see how it is.  You figure you are getting a free hat so you are getting the paper for about half price for the first year.
Good Shooting,
George

I also received a copy a few days ago and finally had a chance to read it this morning.  Will give it a try for the first year and see if it offers the reader anything different from the other outdoor publications.

I was wondering how many hunters received the first copy free...I was the lucky recipient of a free copy too.  I think it is just what a NY Hunter/Fisherman is looking for...It's different that the Conservationist and that is what I am looking for.

I too received a copy and thought it wasn't bad.
I was really impressed with the article on E-Z skinning a deer 'cause when I tried it ti really worked.
I had two to skin & get to a butcher on Tues. 11/22 because of the warm weather and I had to go to Jersey to help my mom with dad.
I subscribed on the strenght of that one article  alone!!

New York Hunter, I believe that their first subscription mailing will be in February.  Check their website again.  I believe they state when they will be shipping.  Joe

I paid off some Christmas bills and had a few bucks left over in the checking account so I mailed in a check for a subscription.  There were a few things that were a little off in the first newspaper, but for a few bucks, every two weeks, I have something to read on break at work or while in my "thinking chair" at home.  I did like the local/regional spin and writers a la the defunct NY Sportsman

Our local newspaper sucks "Rochester Democrat & Chronicle" for outdoor news, the writer is mostly a granola crunchy hiker that could really cares less about hunting and fishing and fills in the paper with hiking, biking and sailing articles from time to time and occassionally throws in an article for opening day of deer, turkey, bass and trout fishing.

Well I just received my complimentary hat in the mail today...It fits my head better than all the other camo baseball hats I have.  My cranium is pretty large so "one size fits all" hats do not fit...The camo is a little cheesy but I can live with that...This hat will see field use...

I got my first copy on Friday. I hope to see the hat soon. Pretty interesting articles in it.

Well,

Shouldn't we have received the 2nd issue by now - it has been two weeks.  Anyone? Bueller? Bueller?   ....or are they getting off on a bad start?  Perhaps just a delay in the mail.
