Looking at bases and mounts for encores/G2/ contenders and the TSOB keeps popping up for them.  WHat is it?

TSOB is the name given to the scope mounts made by SSK.  Supposed to hold up better to the heavy recoiling contenders & encores.   These mounts usually have a TSOB scratched into the surface, usually 6 hole mounting.   I think it stands for Tough Son Of a B.   IF I am wrong, someone will correct me.

I'm not positive, but aren't those the mounts that have 3 Weaver style rings instead of 2. A buddy had a set on his Contender in a 7-30 Waters several years back and from what I remember he never had a bit of trouble with them in anyway. Tough looking mounting system if I'm thinking of the right ones.

Yes!  That is exactly what TSOB stands for.  I have one on a 45-70 barrel.  You used to be able to buy them with three or four rings.  Good mount.

Speaking of which...

Anybody got an idea of what the going price is for either of the 2 styles of silver SSK T'SOB rings per pair?

Thanks,
