Does anyone know of a manufacturer of thumbhole stocks for the NEF handi?

The survivor synthetic from H&R is a thumbhole design. The stock is available separately, $56 + shipping.

If you want a wood thumbhole stock, Wenig has a pattern for it. If you buy one, you should probably send $10 to the guy who paid for the pattern to get his stock made. I can probably dig up his contact info if you want.

Send $10.00 to the guy who had the first stock (pattern) made up? I have never heard of such a thing. To tell you the truth it's a great idea, but only if for the first guy. Sort of similar to a pyramid scheme with only one step.

After 15-20 stocks the first one ordered would be paid for and the rest is pure profit. Would you suggest that he should then pay capital gains on the addittional profit?

I think a better idea would be for Wenig to pay a $5.00 or $10.00 royalty fee for each stock made to the guy who originally paid for the stock pattern. That money would be from the profit they would be making from his investment in their inventory of stock patterns.

If they balk at that, how about a $5.00-$10.00 donation to the NRA or shooting sports/hunting group of their choice, in his name perhaps?

Now that I think more about it that would be a great merchandising idea for Wenig. A donation to the NRA made by Wenig for each stock they sell possibly made in the name of the person who paid for the original stock design!!

Now there's an idea. I looked back in the yahoo group archives, and somebody offered to send Mike $20 for having the pattern made and he declined.
Anybody who buys a stock can thank him that they don't have to pay a $175 patterning fee.

The base price for an unfinished Wenig stock set was less than $200 at the time, I don't know what it is now. The first one must have been around $350 with the pattern cost.

I contacted the above stock manufacturer about a stock the the handi-rifle. They have a pattern for the original and a right handed thumbhole but no pictures. Anyone know where you can look at a pic of a thumbhole for a handi.

Mitch, The intention of the quote you used from my post was for Wenig, not the stock purchaser, to make the contribution to the NRA out of the appx. $200.00 they charge for the (unfinished?) stock....<><.... :grin:

To the best of my knowledge, this is the stock they made for him. His name (screenname) is i_mungo and he is on the nef/singleshots group at yahoo groups.

The donation idea was because he had to pay a lot for them to develop the stock pattern and pay for his stock.

I'll try to post his pics here for ya. This think looks cool but looks like it might weigh a ton to me.

Hmmm. I don't know about the thumbhole stocks on the small NEF receivers they look out of proportion IMO. Think I'll stick with the OEM stocks.

This might be something I pursue. Just think the stainless setup looks really nice. Kinda like a single shot AR :grin:

The second one looks ok but the first site is a bit radical for me. Maybe I'll just stick to the original. May just cook up one of my own some day. I have done it before. That long thru bolt does present some problems though.

Handirifle - The Shotforce aren't bad looking at all. The rifle stocks on something like a .22 hornet or .223 looks like it would make a mean varminter. :agree:
