Ejector insted of extractor
« on: June 08, 2004, 04:35:59 AM »
I love my Encore but for a hunting rifle I would prefer to have the option of have a true ejector (tossing the shell clear of the barrel when opened) rather than an extractor (lifting the shell out to be grabbed by fingers).  Perhap even a selective ejector that lifts unfired rounds but ejects empties.  Does anyone modify Encore barrels to fit ejectors?

I had one on a 45/70 Contender barrel and hated it. Always chasing brass around. I can see where it would be good for hunting though. It obviously never caught on very good as TC has discontinued them.   KN

Ejectors were available for some time through the Fox Ridge Custom shop. I would call them and see if they can do this conversion for you.

Belted brass

I just received my first Encore barrel in 350 Rem Mag. The first thing I noticed is that the belt on the case causes you to pull a little more to get it out. At first I was disappointed, but what a beauty Fred made, and what a large round that 350 is.
