Daylight saving time.

Congress considering a plan to settle upon a single time standard, doing away with the twice annual time change.  ..They may pull it off now..

  i would prefer daylight saving be adopted, rather that "standard time".  Any comments?

      They are getting major negative feed back from Northern politicians.
      They do not want the sun to come up at 9 A.M., or, later, in sub-zero weather in the winter, as that means children having to go to school in the sub-zero dark, hours before the sun rises.
      DST is an asinine idea.

My understanding is the Senate isn't moving it since they don't have the votes, so it's likely dead.

As far as Standard vs Daylight time, things have changed dramatically since this was last tried in the mid 70's - very few children walk to school any more, not many more are bussed from large bus stops where children have to walk to a central stop.  Today, the majority of parents drop them off or wait with the child at the end of their driveway to get picked up, so the argument about late sunrise doesn't have the same impact as it did 50+ years ago.

Personally I'd rather have more daylight later in the day with Daylight time, in exchange for later sunrises, vs super early sunrises interrupting my sleep and less daylight later in the day due to earlier sunsets.

But ultimately, I'd be OK either way, just stop with the stupid time changes.

  A lot of children still live out in the country side, and busses have to go out there to get them or their parents have to drive miles to get them to school in the dead of winter.
 
I had a job where I had to drive into the Twin Cities in the dead of night in the winter, regardless of weather temp..  It is not as easy as it sounds.
 
            There is a lot of population, and conditions,  out side of the cities, which most politicians have zero idea exists, and the percentage of men who have become wimpish is growing. Trump is one of them.

I don't really care which time we're on as I don't operate by the clock. I get up when I wake and go to bed when I'm sleepy. The only thing I do that makes me operate by the clocks is when I have a doctor appointment.

I do wish tho the time didn't change as I have to reset all the clocks twice a year. It might take me 2-3 days to get them all changed.

I kind of do like daylight savings time better. But honestly it just doesn't matter to me which time we're on.

Just stop it IMO. If. A certain group need it then THEY alone should be smart enough to implement it on their own. Not tile setting. Dont ya know?
