CHATBOTS?
« on: Yesterday at 11:59:57 PM »
It seems everyone needs one and teenagers are using them for friends in place of disagreeable human friends. So what could possibly go wrong?
They'll listen to you no matter what the topic, and they (the experts) say these CHATBOTS have read virtually everything available on the internet. Once again, with that kinda of knowledge. What could possibly go wrong?
I am hearing though, that you shouldn't talk to your CHATBOT if you're feeling depressed, or a little down, as your  CHATBOT can at times offer rather drastic solutions for depression. :-\

What can go wrong, he asks.  (Maybe I'm missing some sarcasm, here?)

It's software, and can be manipulated for all manner of ill-gotten reasons.  Psychological warfare, child influence, brainwashing, and a whole host of other bad deeds.

We need to KILL "artificial intelligence" completely.....eradicate it from our vocabulary, our internet, and our societies.

“We need to KILL "artificial intelligence" completely”

Roger, I agree almost completely. It may have some uses in areas of research, calculations and such. But absolutely dangerous in the wrong hands, and who’s to say anymore who  those wrong hands belong to. Criminal evidence, in the form of captured video, can be produced on anyone, someone not remotely connected to a crime. Not to mention the degradation of the art forms. The question, I would ask, is how can it be safely controlled?

I'm not familiar with chatbots, and I'm not interested in finding out.

So far as AI is concerned, it seems we have a "tiger by the tail" !  Even if we didn't want to deal with AI, we likely have to as a defensive measure..

AI promises breakthroughs in all the sciences, some of which will be astounding !  I wish we could just slough it off and ignore it !

However, if we don't compete in this field, those who pursue AI will gain great advantage over us.

It could be comparable to warriors of the bronze age, coming against those still using stone age weapons.

The bronze age participants spread quickly through their stone age neighbors, and exerted dominance..
