Little history check. That part of the middle east was under Ottoman control, for 400 years, 1500 to 1917. They called it Palestine, and it was divided up into 3 sectors, and everybody got along. Sure went down the tubes in the last 70+ years.
More info; The Ottoman Empire was founded from the ME mayhem about 1300 AD..it lasted until 1922. They held it until they screwed up and backed the losing side during WW1. Loser don't get to be choosers... The fact that they held that geographical area for over 600 years doesn't give them permanency of ownership.
Such is the way of the world. Britain took over the old Ottoman Empire (remember Lawrence of Arabia?) Thus, the UK held hegemony over that real estate, and decided to turn over the old, bible descriptor of Israel...to the Israelis..
That map included all of today's Israel , plus what was called Transjordan (Jordan). However, the Hashemites whined so loud, that today's Jordan was handed to them.
You could say that "all was at peace" before 1922, but all non Muslims in that empire were subject to dhimmitude..an Islamic form of servitude an suppressed religious and other freedoms.
Arabs living peacefully in Israel today, do not live under such restrictions or loss of freedoms as was dhimmitude..
