I have long discovered that many folks have a warped picture of the Empire State. ( quoting G. Washington) Due to warped publicity and faulty authors and film makers, they seem to think that NY is primarily sidewalks and skyscrapers..
Nothing could be further from the truth.. While I am no fan of NY City..to state it mildly, the following video shows what I see most as a resident of rural New York..
This video divulges facts many residents have no concept of...all within one state. Be prepared to be startled !
Just a sample, New York's Adirondack State Park, mostly left to wilderness, is large enough to contain several national parks..
1)Glacier Park
2) Yellowstone Park
3)Grand Canyon Park
4) Yosemite Park and
5) Great Smokie Mts Park... I suppose other states could do the same..an there may be others, but I happened to run into this one.
One more trivia point for those who think NY is all paved... 64% of New York's land area is covered by forests..
Check it out for 49 more surprises..
