If the earth is warming, and the polar ice melts, they why did Obama buy a home near the coast. In 1989 they said global warming would put Miami under water in 10 YEARS, it didn't happen. It hasn't happened. That was over 30 years ago. Also, I've read an article, that some of the temperature numbers were fudged up by 1-2 degrees to fit the UN agenda.
1) Electric cars still cost too much, haven't increased the range, and decreased the charging times.
2) Wind power is ok, but the transmission lines have to be built from less populated windy areas to more populated non windy areas.
3) Solar panels are ok, but same problem. The best places to install them is on top of flat buildings and over parking lots. However, this is all mostly private property. Solar also takes 20-30 years to pay for itself in power bills, and the life of solar panels currently is about 30 years.
4) Hydrogen is made from natural gas (CH4), which has 4 hydrogen molecules, vs making it from water using electricity. Water is H2O so only two hydrogens vs CH4 with natural gas. So, if you have to drill for the gas, just burn the gas in generators. Less carbon than coal. But, you still have to DRILL or FRACK.
5) The reason there hasn't been a rush to alternative fuels is shear cost. Now we have high inflation, people have to live, buy food, and drive to work in MOST places. They can't afford alternatives.
Come up with cheaper alternatives and the whole world will buy it. Right now, people aren't buying it because of shear cost. Government can't really afford it as they are already $30 trillion in debt and eventually will go bankrupt and collapse like the Soviet Union. Then what are people going to do?
The only real alternative, is to increase efficiency, build semi-underground homes to cut utility costs, or possibly go hybrid with vehicles. Hybrids are slightly more expensive than pure gasoline, but not as expensive as electrics. They won't strain the electric grid, as the engines can charge the batteries when needed. Change will have to be incremental, not forced, otherwise you are looking at another recession or depression and more government debt, which causes more inflation. Also, people don't like being told what to do. The government has lied to us, the Democrats have cheated to win elections and people don't trust them. So, they are the ones yelling about global warming so I don't trust them. The science can be wrong, as witnessed by Covid. I recently had Covid and took Ivermectin and a decongestant, drank warm liquids and ate soup and knocked it out in about 5 days. I am 70, have diabetes, and a bad heart. I survived. My wife had it and did NOT take Ivermectin and it took her about 3 weeks to get over it. The government lied about Ivermectin. Fauci lied. The mRNA vaccines did not work. People still got Covid. Other countries gave Ivermectin to their people, and had a 50% less death rate. The US had the highest in the world. I do not trust the government or any Democrat or Rino. I have become more Libertarian. Just get the government out of everyone's business.
