Controlled Round Feed B/S

Hmm, interesting post here.  I have both CRF and push feed rifles and love both of them.  I didn't buy the CRF rifle for any purpose other than I liked the rifle and it fell into the category I was looking for (Ruger M77mkII).  I wanted a stainless/laminate rifle in a standard caliber that would serve me well from small deer to elk or black bear if need be. I chose the 280 round since I have two 30-06s.  I really can't say that I am infatuated (sp?) with CRF and can reap any benefits from it.  The features of the rifle are appealing to me and with the price that I paid ($489) I think that I got the most rifle for my money.  Thats not to say it would be anyone else's choice or that push feeds are junk.  This is why there are so many options in sporting firearms, not everyone likes the same thing.

Very interesting posts. It kinda reminds me of the which is better... chevy vs ford vs dodge vs the imports. I personally drive a import truck. Why? The same reason I buy the firearms that I do. The freedom to choose. I own Rems, Rugers, savage, Tikka and beretta. I don't have a win. yet only because I may have liked the rifle etc but was the wrong caliber at the time. I have much more experience with CRF than push but I can't say anything negative about the push feed.

As far as to what is cheap or junk or of poor quality I feel is of that individuals personal experience or expectation of the firearm in question. I own some of the rifles that some here don't like. They shoot like a dream for me. Anything that man builds is not perfect. And some rifles like some ladies I know can be temperamental.

The issue that really gets under my skin and stopped me from buying what I thought was beautifully built Rem vl in a 223 was that J-Lock in the bolt. There was no way was I letting a lawyer somewhere dictate what should or shouldn't be on a rifle I was going to purchase. Because of that Rem lost a customer. And I don't need 8# trigger pulls either! No safety or heavy triggers beats proper training and common sense. Let the consumer with his dollar tell the tale.
