Had those flaky bicuits with sausage gravy, just yesterday. That is always good, and need not be confined to breakfast, good anytime..
And I may be from the north, but one good thing I picked up while living in Dixie is...GRITS ! First with butter, then finish with syrup !
Waffles are good anytime also, along with maple syrup. There are many Maple producers in my area, including a brother-in-law's family,.
Maple takes a lot of boiling and a lot of work and it is truly good, but not $40 to $50 a gallon good to me, so i just use the store bought brands.
