   Yes... The Russians and the Finns signed a non=aggreasion pact in 1932..  A pact promising upon their honor that they would not agress, one against each another.

The Finns in WWII joined Germany when Germany invaded the Soviet Union.  The reason they did was to get their territory back Stalin took from them before the start of WWII.  Also, Russia once did not control anything in the Baltic.  They took the St. Petersburg area from Sweden back in the 1700's when Sweden once controlled Finland, Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuiana.

In 1948 Russia and Finland signed a Peace Treaty formally and legally ending their war; which was resigned in 1992 after the liquidation of the Soviet government. Finland's neutrality was/is foremost in that Treaty.
If Finland violates the terms of the Peace Treaty, then legally the Russo-Finno war is back on....

For china to do that they would have to invade canada against there will and nope i wouldnt stand for that. If canada decides they need nukes then they should be free to have them. Treaty's are nothing more then agreements. Its like if you get married and find 5 years down the line you made a mistake.   A promise to not invade Russia, and  because Finland is not about to invade Russia. joining NATO need not be mutually exclusive.
  Only way Putin would have to worry, is if he plans on attacking a NATO country.  ...And I suspect that with his ongoing situation in Ukraine, he will not be greatly adventurous at anytime soon.

nato is not trying to invade russia. Russia IS threatening to invade nato countries. With russia doing what there doing and china and korea threatening, we can use all the help we can get. I applaud Finland and Sweeden for having the guts to stand up to russia and join even with the treats by putin. If turkey wants to block it then i say feed them to the wolves. Putin calling it an act of war if they join is ridiculous. Its just part of the scare tactics he employs. He casued there reaction and there wanting to join nato. Its just threats and thats about all he has left and he knows it. He knows if he employs a tactical nuke its all over for him. He knows if he uses nukes it has to be an all in scenario and that will end him. Hes in a lose lose situation. He has only two choices. Pick up and go home or start ww3. either way he looses. Countries dont have a choice anymore. They cant stay neutral. Its either nato or join with russia or china and live under there thumb. Putin knows if he uses nukes or chemical weapons even china will wash there hands of him and all he will have left is korea and a couple other countries he controls with his oil and money.
