Question about 375 H&H in Encore
« on: March 03, 2004, 09:39:53 AM »
I was curious as to the effects of repeated firing of the 375 HH on the encore frame.  Will the pressures of this cartridge cause premature loosening of the hinge pin or excessive wear on the frame?

Also, how would a 300 win mag compare in the pressure area?

I'm looking for a large game round to hunt world wide with and am favoring the 375 HH.

Thanks.

Question about 375 H&H in Encore

This is an interesting question.  Im considering a .375 H&H Bbl myself and would like to hear from people with "hands on" experience.  Bets I can tell though, in my limited experience with the Encore so far, is that I have not heard of problems.  I wouldnt think T/C would factory chamber a round(s) that could do potential frame damage.  I dont know offhand what the operating pressure of the WSMs are, but Im lead to believe, hearing the posts here, that they are at the pressure limits of the Encore and could cause some eventual frame stretching.  The .300 Win Mag is not really that high in op pressure, considering.  The .375 is up there, but I dont know if they are near the Short Mag pressures.  So anyone with extensive bbl time with these calibers, I too would like to hear your opinions.
